One of the most famous structures worldwide is the “must-go” for those visiting Paris for the first time.
The Tower, designed for the Universal Exhibition of 1889, which commemorated the centenary of the French Revolution, was, at the time, the tallest structure in the world.
Now considered a masterpiece of engineering and architectural design, it was to be demolished 20 years after the exhibition, but has been preserved despite harsh criticism. One of the reasons was the antennas placed on its top. Gustave Eiffel, its builder, convinced the authorities that the city needed a communications tower and a place for meteorological studies. In this way he managed to keep his magnificent work standing. (Fortunately!)
Our tips:
The best way to get there is by subway. And yes, it makes a difference which way you come to it. In our opinion, from Trocadéro you have a more beautiful view, the gardens are beautiful and the walk will be more pleasant.
Your ticket can be purchased in advance (on the official website), so you have direct access to the tower, on the chosen day and time, without having to queue. Just print your ticket at home or save to your mobile device.
Great option is the fully interconnected path passing through the Jardins du Trocadéro - check out the Palais de Caillot, now a museum , along the Pont d'Iéna, crossing the Seine, until you reach the Eiffel Tower. After the visit, continue through the pleasant Parc du Champ de Mars until you see the École Militare. If you want to extend your tour, you are close to l'Hôtel des Invalides. Depending on the day and time, it is worth the detour to visit O Marché de Saxe-Breteuil. In addition to knowing the market, you get interesting Eiffel Tower images.
You can arrive with daylight and wait for dusk. The progressive lighting of the tower is unforgettable! About 20,000 lamps are lit daily at night and make tourists happy. A real light show! Every hour, the lights are flashing for several minutes.

Even if you don't go up, it's beautiful to look at the structure underneath.
There are two restaurants at the Eiffel Tower, exquisite, sophisticated and fascinating, mainly due to its privileged location... Be prepared because the prices are not abusive, but are equivalent to an unforgettable experience.
Jules Verne , on the second level, is run by famous chef Alain Ducasse (need I say more?). Reservation is mandatory and there is an appropriate dress code. No big deal, just T-shirts, shorts and sportswear are not accepted.
